Wall 2 Wall were a Basildon based Rock Band, formed in 1995 by Marcus and Steve Brown, Nick Swallow and Glen Woodroffe.
Between 1996 and 2007 they played over 2000 live performances including headlining slots at Basildon Festival. They also performed at many legendary Essex venues, The Grand in Leigh, The Estuary in Southend, Club Riga in Westcliff, The Army and Navy in Chelmsford and The Belvedere in Basildon.
They also released two albums, ‘Ugley Village Hall’ in 1998 and ‘Men That Used to Be’ in 2001 and are mentioned in a book 'The History of Basildon' published in 2002.
Are the band still together?
No – Their final performance took place on the 6th February 2007. As Marcus reflected, the time was right, the band were ‘leaving the party while they could still dance’, they did not want to rely on someone else to get them home. Despite being frequently asked there are no plans for a return, although the boys remain close friends.

Wall 2 Wall are remembered mostly for their energetic and ground breaking live shows, using wireless guitar systems enabling them to move freely throughout the venue whilst continuing to play their blistering and powerful Rock n Roll set list to hundreds of punters. Wall 2 Wall were a band that broke down the 4th wall and are remembered as a ‘not to be missed’ live act. It wasn’t uncommon to see recently divorced couples or sibling rivals put aside their differences in order to be at the show, something Marcus remains proud of to this day!

Where are they now?
Three members of the original lineup now perform regularly in Oasiz, recognised by many as the Greatest Oasis Tribute Band in the World! Oasiz was formed by Marcus, Steve and Gary Ayres of Colourkinesis in 2006. Nick joined them in 2024.

Marcus is also the driving force behind The Matching who are currently working on their sixth studio album.

Steve toured successfully with his own project Colourkinesis, who released 3 albums between 2003 and 2007.
